Cord Parmenter began his professional career in 1985. He has been making his living as an artist-blacksmith - with hammer and anvil- for 24 years now. Cord has been specializing in custom iron, creating one of a kind pieces for many homes in the region and throughout the country. He is highly skilled at free forming the iron and making the tools, jigs or forms that help him to achieve his creative goals.

Although he is a traditional blacksmith, Cord doesn’t shy from using modern techniques in combination with the traditional to create the results he wants and to capture the essence of the iron. His work is clean, fluid and the detail is simply amazing. His body of work spans a broad scope. From flowers, hummingbirds, and delicate sculptures to furniture, railings, gates, and stairways - Cord allows us to see the versatility of this ancient medium - iron.

He will soon be giving classes on beginning blacksmithing, knife making and other aspects of forging iron.
