I am the owner of Baltimore MD's first sewing lounge, the Sassy SEWer. I primarily teach garment sewing and design classes. I also teach sewing machine and serger operation classes at Joann Fabrics. Previously, I taught garment, home decorating and craft sewing & various trend classes at Joann Fabrics. I've been interested in sewing since childhood. I began to teach myself sewing in my early twenties and have been sewing ever since, 20+ years. My preference is apparel sewing and design. I’ve also worked for Husqvarna Viking Sewing Machine's as a sales associate. I sold serger, sewing and embroidery sewing machines. While employed with Viking I also taught customers how to use their sewing machines. In July 2007 I was certified as Trained Sewing Educator by the Sewing & Craft Alliance, formerly the Home Sewing Association. I am a licensed You Can Make It sewing instructor and a licensed Kids Can Sew and Fashion Design instructor. I am currently enrolled in the Fashion Design program at Baltimore City Community College. I am the V.P of Special Events for the MD Chapter of American Sewing Guild (ASG) & serve on the Board of Directors as Secretary for the MD chapter of Association of Sewing & Design Professionals (ASDP), fomerly Professional Association of Custom Clothier (PACC). I am also on the board of Baltimore City College's Fashion Advisory Board.
