Tom Baker is a professional composer and musician with over 20 years of experience, including teaching composition and music theory at the University of Washington (1993-2006). He teaches studio lessons in guitar, composition, theory, counterpoint and musicianship.
Tom is the Artistic Director of the Seattle Composers’ Salon and the co-founder of the Seattle Experimental Opera. He received a Master’s degree in Classical Guitar from Arizona State University, and a Doctorate in Composition from the University of Washington.
Tom draws on both his extensive academic knowledge as well as his experience as a player and professional musician to create a powerful, holistic approach to music instruction.
