Vahana is an award-winning classically trained belly dancer specializing in Egyptian, Lebanese, and Turkish styles. She has been dancing and performing for 9 years throughout California, Oregon, and Nevada and instructing in Placerville for the past 3 years. She is the director of the well-known belly dance troupe Jewels of the North, as well as the Jewelettes, a belly dance troupe for young girls.
Vahana is also the producer of the acclaimed "Casbah Lounge, Evening of Middle Eastern Dance" held four times a year as a charity benefit. The Casbah Lounge is the premiere Middle Eastern dance event for the Foothills and is held at Annabelle's Chocolate Lounge, 6240 Pleasant Valley Road, El Dorado (near Placerville).
Classes are held Thursday nights at Jammin' Dance, 6090 Enterprise Drive, Diamond Springs near Placerville and just minutes off Hwy 50.
Kids class - 6 p.m.
Adults Beg/Mixed level - 7 p.m.
Troupe Jewels of the North rehearsals - 8 p.m.
