Review of UkeFest at Dusty Strings, June 28, 2009

I took Miss Rose's Intro to Ukulele workshop at UkeFest, and it was great fun. There were five of us in the class, all beginners to ukulele, but with varying ranges of overall music knowledge. Miss Rose set a nice pace of learning the basic strums and chords, with a sprinkling of music theory and playing songs. If I take any more uke classes, I'll definitely call Miss Rose!

p.s. She was also very patient with all of our new ukuleles constantly going out of tune!

Review of Miss Rose, September 05, 2009

I knew the basic chords on the uke from living in Hawaii. What Miss Rose taught me is to play around with chords that have their home further up the neck. It makes playing way more fun to have more chords to chose from and Sunga breaks it down so its not so hard. And she sneaks in enough music theory to have it make sense and not so much theory that your eyes start to roll back into your head. Yeah.
