Viola Lessons

Lessons are available for students ages 5 and older. Please ensure that younger students are able to focus on one subject for about half an hour before enrolling them in lessons.

Studies will include knowledge about the instrument and care for it, technique, musicality, and some music theory. Most students will work out of the Suzuki books (not the Suzuki Method, however), but other music that the student has sought out and wants to learn is always welcome in my lessons. Help with music from school or other orchestras or ensembles is also appropriate.

The first lesson is scheduled on a trial basis for peace of mind. This does not mean that the lesson is free, but it does mean that I will not ask you to schedule a monthly block of lessons right away or pressure you to come back. I encourage students to find a comfortable student/teacher relationship, as not every teacher is best matched with every student, so I will leave scheduling the next lesson up to you.
