I am an active professional musician required to perform a variety of music. I emphasize for students, a classical comprehensive approach to reading and playing music as an instrumentalist. I can teach jazz and a variety of folk music, as well as America folk music. My approach is to emphasize the basics with the idea of having fun playing music later.

Ben is a wonderful teacher. He is very talented at improving technique and cultivating listening skills, whilst being encouraging and patient. He quickly assesses areas that need improvement and develops lesson plans to increase performance. He is able to explain very clearly what he means, as well as demonstrate it. He makes learning fun and promotes enjoyment of music at all levels. When I asked my son for his opinion, he said, "Ben has helped me with my technique and learning to listen and well.....just everything, I feel like I'm learning so much, he's a really great teacher."

Ben Brussell is an attentive, caring & very involved music teacher. His class has helped my son adjust to a brand new school and friends. The days of music class have always been a huge highlight in the day. Not to mention, it has bridged his understanding and learning of the italian language at Girotondo Italian School in San Rafael in a huge way!
