  • "Good class. I learned a lot."

Review of WRITING FICTION & short stories, November 06, 2008

I took the writing fiction and short stories class in summer 2008 through the experimental college, taught by Nils Osmar. I found it on Craigslist and signed up online on the experimental college web page. It's a good class. I got a lot of writing done, worked some kinks out of it and learned a lot. Nils covered all the basics and cleared up some things I had been wondering about. As a teacher he is encouraging, but also will tell you if there is a problem with your writing, and help you get on track and get it figured out. Five of us got together after the class for a writing group which was another thing I had been looking for, which Nils encouraged and gave us some good suggestions about how to set it up.

  • "A wonderful screenwriting class"

Review of Nils Osmar, April 05, 2009

I've taken several classes from Nils at the Wonder school and Experimental College. The most recent one was the screenwriting class, It’s Time to Write Your Screenplay.

I learned an amazing amount in five weeks, and got lots and lots of practice. The class energized my writing, cleaned up some problems I was having, and gave me focus. The exercises were almost unbelievably helpful, to myself and other students. The feedback was GREAT. I improved a lot and saw tremendous improvement in several other students’ writing, as the course went along.

Nils’s classes are well-structured, fun and very professional. I recommend this class to anyone who has ever daydreamed about writing a screenplay.

Why The Resumé is Dead

1. Resumés don't tell the whole story.
I can't remember where I heard this quote, but I love it. "A resumé is like a self written obituary." All it does is tell th...

Turn that good idea into a published children's book.

As a new parent I had several great ideas for children's books, but it took seeing my grandchildren to goad me into bringing them to life.  Whatever your situation, now is the best time to...
