The 500-hour Level Yoga Teacher Training

"All Life is Yoga," says Sri Aurobindo, the great yogi of yogis. At the 500-hour Level, you will take this to heart and embark on a seven month journey to expand your understanding of what it means to live Purna Yoga. The 500-hour level consists of 300 hours of classes (three 2-week intensives) and independent study (two 12-week sessions of philosphy study, asana and meditation practice, and anatomy study). While at the College, you will receive the tools, techniques and information to deepen your teaching, and when you are away from the College, you will have the time to integrate, deepen, and apply what you have learned. Looking deep within yourself, you will learn to discover the areas that hold promise, and unveil their potential. Plan to delve into the wellsprings of your inspiration to teach yoga, and into your heart, bringing forth the teacher within.

In this course, expectations are higher and living yoga is the goal. You will learn additional asanas and sequences, therapeutic applications, how to teach the Purna Yoga Meditation Snacks, and the holistic approach to business and marketing. In the end, you will emerge confident enough to hold the mantle of an Affiliated Purna Yoga Instructor.

Prerequisite: You must have completed a 200-hour Teacher Training. (This must be from a Yoga Alliance Registered School if you intend to register as an RYT-500 upon completing this course.) If your 200-hour training was not in Purna Yoga, you will need to document 30 hours in Purna Yoga classes (workshops, meditation or asana classes from Aadil, Mirra, or any Certified Purna Yoga Instructor)

  • "The Best on the Eastside"

Review of Yoga Centers, September 22, 2009

Yoga Centers offers the best yoga instruction anywhere in the Seattle Metropolitan area. It is located in Bellevue and worth crossing the 520 or 90 to attend classes there. The teachers are all highly trained, effective and the space has an incredible, light feeling about it.

  • "Amazing Place for Healing"

Review of Yoga Centers, January 22, 2009

I came to Yoga Centers in 1993 having read the impressive bio of Aadil Palkhivala. I thought, "sounds impressive, but let's see who this person actually is." I was stunned to find out that he is all his bio proclaims and more. I found that the yoga classes helped me find more life in my body than any other exercise I had done, my low back pain changed dramatically, and I was inspired to grow as a human being.

Once I added the astonishingly profound meditation classes taught by Mirra, my life changed forever. I found a deeper meaning and purpose to my life than ever before, and am honored and deeply grateful to be part of this most beautiful community of owners, teachers, staff and students.
