"Explore Physical and Spiritual Joy at NW Comm Yoga"
Review of NW Community Yoga and Pilates, July 17, 2008
I've been a student at Northwest Community Yoga for nearly three years, and feel incredibly lucky to have found such a wonderful studio.
Primarily, I attend the intermediate/advanced classes, and my practice has grown tremendously since I started there. I attribute my overall growth to the competence and calming presence of Diane Anderson and her great group of instructors. Diane adeptly integrates the 8 Limbs of Yoga into her instruction, and has a keen intuition for what both individual students and a full class need at any given moment. Subtle adjustments and alignment have helped me improve flexibility, strength, and my energy body.
The studio offers occasional workshops and retreats, and I can say without hyperbole that the Retreat I attended in Fall 2007 changed my life. The setting, food, and retreat companions all combined for a lasting sense of peace, new abilities (I ♥ arm balances!) and a thoughtful reconsideration of my role in the world.
If you are wanting to experience the many benefits of yoga in an atmosphere that is supportive and committed to bringing out the best we all have inside of us, you will find that at NW Community Yoga.

Review of NW Community Yoga and Pilates, July 17, 2008
I started out at NW Comm Yoga several years ago by attending the Wednesday evening 5pm Beginner/Restorative class. My initial goal was to use yoga as a way to chill out from my high pressure job. And, it really helped. Along the way, attending this class weekly, I got hooked.
The beginner/restorative was a perfect way to start learning all of the poses, all of the terminology, all of the breathing techniques, and much more. After attending this class for about 6 months, I started going to some of the awesome workshops to build a stronger practice. And, in less than 6 months I found myself going to more of the intermediate classes. Soon, I was attending several classes a week, building strength, flexibility and inner calm that I had no idea was possible for me, prior to learning from these great instructors.
I continue to go to all levels of classes, trying out all of the teachers. And, I love them all. But, truly, I try to maintain my beginner's mind by returning regularly to where I began on Wednesday nights at 5pm with Diane where I continue to learn and grow and build my practice.
Truly, if you're looking for a small, friendly, non-competitive, fostering studio this is the place for you.
Namaste.
