Breathe yoga studio offers variety in Denver

Posted by on October 21, 2009

Combining spin, hoop dance and more than eight styles of yoga, Breathe yoga studio offers classes to suit every body.  This is Denver’s premier boutique studio, giving the student a very different experience that can be found in a sterile gym space. The intimate class sizes ensure individualized instruction from Breathe’s diverse and experienced teachers.

Breathe’s current classes are as follows: SpinFit, Vinyasa yoga, Ashtanga yoga, Hatha and Hatha Flow yoga, Integral yoga, Hoop Dance, Rocket yoga, Restorative yoga (with yours truly!), Candlelight Flow, Kundalini yoga and Yin yoga…phew! There are workshops beginning in October as well as new classes such as Bellydancing and Yoga Cycle, for those cyclists who want to maintain their fitness and flexibility in the off season.  Breathe yoga studio opened in July 09 and presents students with a friendly, personalized practice in a supportive space.

Just one of the styles offered by Breathe is Restorative yoga. This style of yoga offers access to deep levels of relaxation and stress relief. Each class teaches supported Hatha yoga postures using props such as blankets, blocks and eye pillows. A Restorative class provides an opportunity to bring openness and release to the body without the painful 'edge' associated with most forms of yoga. It is especially beneficial to women as many poses help with the menstrual cycle, relieve the stresses of pregnancy and help to balance the hormones for women in menopause. However, all bodies, including those experiencing chronic pain or recovering from an injury or illness, can benefit from Restorative yoga. The supported poses offer students an alternative or modified way to practice yoga, especially if the student is stressed or fatigued.

Breathe is located at 2700 Arapahoe St, Denver 80205 and can be reached at 303.297.3005.
