Sherry came to yoga six years ago after working as an architectural project manager and human resources manager. The stress of the corporate world had taken its toll and yoga was her salvation. Because she began yoga later in life and had to face her own limited mobility, she has a heightened sensitivity to ensuring her students move through the postures in a relaxed and comfortable way. The focus is classical-eclectic Hatha practiced in a slow meditative manner. Classes emphasize coordinating the breath with movement, beginning with long warm ups, moving slowly in and out of more challenging postures and cooling down with calming quieting poses. Students are encouraged to listen to and observe their bodies, practicing kindness and acceptance of where their bodies are today. Alternatives and modifications are provided when necessary to enable the student to feel more ease in the postures. She subscribes to the belief put forth so aptly by yoga master T.V.K. Desikachar, “Anybody can breathe; therefore, anybody can do yoga.”

Review of Gentle Flow Yoga, November 25, 2008
Her training was at Ananda Seva where they focus on gentle postures that allow one to move comfortably. The focus is on coordinating breath with movement, doing repetitions of postures rather than long holdings, linking postures in a gentle flow to activate the subtle body (chakras). I think it ends up being more meditative that way. I also like Sherry's focus on pranayama as I think it's plays a major role in our health and sense of well being. She has borrowed from many traditions besides the two that were basic in her training as a teacher including Iyengar, Bikram and Shivananda. She continues to research new areas from other traditions and incorporates them in her work.
I very much like the fact that props are not a big focus of the practise.
I have been a student in yoga classses for many years and feel that Sherry offers an especially supportive atmosphere. I feel stretched, energized and happy after each class. I truly enjoy the time I spend with Sherry. Her training was at Ananda Seva where they focus on gentle postures that allow one to move comfortably. Review of Sherry Fraser, November 20, 2008
I have been taking this class for well over a year, and each time, it feels so good. This is the type yoga class I can enjoy very much without being pushed too much and without being concerned about injuring myself. Very often by the end of the day, particularly by the end of work week, I get tired and feel low in energy, but once I am in the class and start my yoga practice, my energy level gets very high and I feel relaxed, and I even forget if I was tired. Oh! What a way to conclude the stressful week and say hello to the relaxing weekend.
Why do I love Yoga?
A little over 7 years ago, I was struck by a Dodge RAM pick up track while I was crossing a street with a 4 way stop sign. I was badly injured and bad pain. 7 months physical therapy 5 days a week and pain drugs didn't help. Doctors told me that I never be the same again and they told me that I have to learn how to live my pain, but I did not want to live with my pain. I spent another 11 months going to Chiropractors, and that did not help either.
Finally, someone showed me a simple Yoga practice. The next morning, I got up without pain. When the western health care system failed me after cleaning my bank savings, Yoga turned out to be my cure from my pain. I have been pain free since then.
Enjoy this Yoga and stay healthy!
